About Us The Douglas was built in 1912 and completely remodeled in the fall of 2016. Once a 'fancy hotel,' it is now home to VRBO's and long term residential units. We are locally owned and locally operated. This is our town, this is our building and business, and this can be your home. We are neighbors as well as landlords and we take pride in Douglas on Third. Douglas on Third offers 10 residential units and 4 Vacation Rentals. Long term residents can rent VRBO's in the same historic building for out of town guests.
